Consultative Workshop on EWS for Students at Risk of Drop out held

Jammu Nov 16th: School Education Department, Directorate of Samagra Shiksha J&K in collaboration with National Development Foundation Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir Association of Social Workers and UNICEF organized a One Day Consultative Rollout Workshop on Early Warning Systems (EWS) for Students at Risk of Dropping Out at Royal Auditorium, Amar Singh Club, Bikram Chowk, Jammu. Around 100 Education Officers and Members of NDF & JKASW participated. The Programme was presided over by Administrator Samagra Shiksha Mr. Jagdeep Padha while Bilal Rashid Dy. Director Planning Samagra Shiksha participated as Guest of Honour. Prominent among others spoke on the occasion include Mr. Ajit Sharma, Mr. Raj Kumar Chadha, Mr. Vijay Singh and Mr. Onil Bhat (All Coordinators Samagra Shiksha), Mr. Rajiv Khajuria (President NDF), Mr. Danish Aziz (Education Specialist UNICEF India) and Mr. Ashfaq Matoo (Executive Director JKASW). Mr. Raj Kumar Chadha presented welcome address while Nisha Pandita (Team Member NDF) acted as Stage Secretary.

Mr. Ganesh Nigam (Education Specialist UNICEF India) was the main Resource Person who sensitized the participants on various National and International Practices on Early Warning Systems. Mr. Jagdeep Padha & Mr. Bilal Rashid expressed satisfaction with the ideas shared by Mr. Ganesh Nigam and assured that after discussing this with Project Director Samagra we will definitely incorporate this in the Education System so that we can prevent the children from dropping out in Jammu & Kashmir.

Mr. Rajiv Kumar Khajuria (President NDF) in his address thanked Project Director Samagra Mr. Deep Raj Kanethia and all stake holders for the successful implementation of the workshop. He stressed on the need of joint efforts by all agencies to step towards Zero Drop out in Jammu & Kashmir.
