Gool, Ramban 30 Dec: In an endeavour to spread awareness initiatives, National Development Foundation alongwith RR Batallion at Gool under the ages of Reasi based Force and in partnership with Save the Children with support from European Union conducted a series of events in the far-flung block of Block Gool district Ramban on 29th and 30th December 2015. On 29th December one day Interface workshop was organized at Higher Secondary School Gool to develop linkages among the communities and Govt. duty bearers to access social protection schemes. About 200 community members including women from 20 far flung villages of block Gool participated in the workshop. Different resource persons including Dr. Mir Zamrooda, Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Shan Zonal Education Planning officer Gool, Mr. Parvinder Singh Programme Manager NDF and Mr. Imtiaz Hussain interacted with the participants and discussed in detail about various schemes of Health Deptt., Education Deptt., Social Welfare Deptt. and Rural Development Deptt. including Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension scheme, Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension scheme, National Family Benefit scheme, Old Age Pension scheme, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan, Scholarship scheme for SCs/ STs, Janani Suraksha Yojna, Rashtriya Baal Surakshana Kariyakaram, MNREGA, Swacchh Bharat Abhiyaan. Participants were also facilitated with various formats and documentation required for applying under the particular scheme. On 30th December, exposure visit was organized for about 200 children from 20 villages of block Gool. A tug of war competition was also organized for the male and female students of twenty far flung and remote villages of Gool bowl. All students participated with great amount to zeal and enthusiasm. The event was followed by distribution of gender based sports material to the 20 children groups. Various opinion makers including Tehsildar Gool Mohd Niyaz Wani, Capt. Aditya Dwivedi from 58 RR, Zonal Education Officer Gool Om Parkash Thakur, SHO Gool Mr. Rauf Khan, Mr. Parvinder Singh Programme Manager NDF, Mr. Sunil Raina provided guidance on various entry schemes in different Govt. sectors including Indian Army, Police Deptt., Education Deptt., and other departments / sectors. The civil administration at Gool appreciated the efforts of NDF and 58 RR for organizing such impressive event in the far flung area of Gool. They stressed upon the need of organization of such more programmes in future also for more reach.
